Bramble has landed

bramble , originally uploaded by sixscale.

This figure is SICK. This is the first robot figure i have purchased since ive been collecting 1/6 figures and im very impressed.

I was a little slow to pick up on ashley wood's releases and im kicking myself because his first 2 figures with threeA, nom de plume and noir de plume. came in a limited run of 50 and 75 a piece and now fetch up to $400+ on evilBay.

With a Bertie the pipe bomb on order i received notice that a few of the Brambles that hadn't been paid for where back in stock at the bambalandstore and i wasn't going to be denied.

Admittedly the figure was expensive listed at $250 but for something of this size and quality the price tag is justified especially consider the cost of recent medi and hot toy releases.

Deep Powder Bramble was a limited run of 200 pieces and has reportedly sold out but there still seems to be an active link at bambalandstore so maybe you can get lucky.

The first thing your going to notice about this guy is the sheer size of him, he is massive!! So make sure u have a good space to display him, for my fellow collectors with the good ol detolfs you may be able 2 squeeze him onto a shelf but expect him 2 take up the full thing.

Once Bramble is fully fitted he is about 14" tall with arms down, 10" front to back and 8" wide. not to mention the 12" machine gun he is toting.

The snowy weathered and slightly rusty metal effect has been perfectly implemented onto the figure design. My only gripes are some sloppy paint on the pouches and the barrel of the Machine Gun is pretty much clean, these are nit picks though and maybe that's what happens when your dispensing heavy caliber rounds into zombie heads.

The detail of the sculpt is really good, he has pretty much stepped off Ashleys canvas and onto your shelf. The only book i have from AW is the complete ZvR paper back which Bramble doesn't feature heavily in but from images ive seen he is spot on. The figure actually has a wood like feel to it because of the paint.

The articulation is really good considering his size, some of the joints are going to need a little working on to get them moving especially the finger tips! I was a bit nervous i was going to break something because the fingers are small but a bit of pressure and the fingers got going.

Its important about the fingers because you need to have them curled to grip his gun and they have 3 joints in them. People have been complaining that the machine gun is 2 heavy for bramble to grip, but i had no problems once i got it into position.

I really love the individual finger articulation there is a small ball joint at the bottom of each finger as well as the 2 knuckle joints so you can have alot of fun with finger gestures :P

His legs are very sturdy and hold him up nicely considering the weight they are handling. The shoulder joints are a little limiting but you can get some lateral movement out of them and he is a robot so u cant expect true type style shoulder joints.

Ive got him on my shelf with the gun dragging on the ground and the international sign for rock being displayed by his left hand so i dont wear out the elbow joints by propping up the gun.

The box is HUGE and i mean on an ikea flat pack level (second ikea reference hmmm), ok maybe its not that big but if you dont have room to pack it you can really use it as a foot stool. Its totally collector friendly and the box art is wicked! I wanted to cut out the Bramble box art panel and put it on my wall but surprise surprise inside the box is a catalog with a fold out poster of Bramble. nice touch right :)

This is really a great figure and IMO its 9/10 with a star missing because of the 250 reason you gave ur wallet 2 hate you. The price tag is pretty high but its a very limited release and you wont be disappointed, i really felt like i was getting my moneys worth with bramble. Its a work of art, literally. I cant wait for more from Ashley Wood and threeA. They are on a serious role.

enjoy the images and if you have a flickr account join the toysRevil WWR flickr group
